A vintage pair of wood chairs from The Merq Barn in Eagle, Idaho were stripped of their original stain to reveal their natural wood tone, and then re-upholstered in a Kravet performance fabric to withstand use in a household with kids and a dog. A pottery barn faux marble table anchors the chairs and provides enough space for a card card by the fire. Rather than opting for the standard built-ins offered by the builder, we chose to source sideboard cabinets that would be ifit nto the niches on either side of the fireplace, creating a built-in look, while creating a unique feature. The fireplace was kept simple wtih no stone surround, or paneling, just a simple wood beam mantle. The niche walls were painted in Sherwin Williams 'Iron Ore' to help detract from the wall mounted tv to the right of the fireplace, and also create a dramatic focal point.
