Home Styling by Alexis E-DesignI color coordinate every room I design. She has a yellow fireplace and the blue surf board and end table. So I turned everything into blue and yellow, with tans and woods to break up the two main colors. No money was involved in designing this space, or any space in this Huntington Beach cottage. It's all about furniture re-arrangement.
DecorbuddiWe chose a beautiful inky blue for this London Living room to feel fresh in the daytime when the sun streams in and cozy in the evening when it would otherwise feel quite cold. The colour also complements the original fireplace tiles.
We took the colour across the walls and woodwork, including the alcoves, and skirting boards, to create a perfect seamless finish. Balanced by the white floor, shutters and lampshade there is just enough light to keep it uplifting and atmospheric.
The final additions were a complementary green velvet sofa, luxurious touches of gold and brass and a glass table and mirror to make the room sparkle by bouncing the light from the metallic finishes across the glass and onto the mirror

Attic AnticsWe painted all the knotty pine with Behr paint to brighten up the space. We added round windows on either side of the fireplace and replaced the large picture window with casings that could open so we could catch a breeze. Sofa, lamp and curtains from Ikea, mirror and lamp from home decor store, a few pillows from Etsy and craft fairs. The rest of the furnishings and accents are from antique fairs and antique stores in Cannon Beach, Portland and Europe.
Mercury Mosaics and TileThis bright family room has as its focal point a gas fireplace with handmade tile in beautiful colors that are rich in variation. Who wouldn't mind spending warm nights by this fireplace?

Nistenhaus Design LLCTo accompany the exposed brick, an industrial feel was achieved with elements like the iron/wood furniture & bar top, original iron fireplace covering, and open metal shelving. The dark gray mantel treatment and navy leather wing-back chair add a richness while the lighter contemporary rug and curtains brighten up to the space.
Babilon DesignNew paint and flooring created a cleaner space to work with. A larger perspective of space was created with a neutral palette, tall sliding door curtain treatments, and reflective accessories. The cozy and simple furniture gave the space a great traffic flow. The accessories were kept simple and played with beach-like forms and colors.

smartSPACE - Home Theatre and AutomationHere's a recessed TV above a fireplace. This was a good example of not having to spend huge money to dress up your TV install. The builder provided a recess for the television and then built a matching picture frame that snaps in place for easy servicing. The end result is a TV above a fireplace that doesn't distract from the architectural features of the room.
