A Victorian semi-detached house in Wimbledon has been remodelled and transformed into a modern family home, including extensive underpinning and extensions at lower ground floor level in order to form a large open-plan space. Photographer: Nick Smith

Patterned mosaic tiles set the tone—timeless, characterful and made to withstand the rhythms of family life. Bespoke, detailed cupboards keep the space elegant and uncluttered, proving that practicality can be discreet, thoughtful and quietly hardworking.

Creation of a porch for shelter and practicality as well as unify the two 'halves' of the property. The rendered finish with contemporary timber-effect cladding maintains a connection with the existing timber materials whilst also updating the facade.

Lincoln Road is our renovation and extension of a Victorian house in East Finchley, North London. It was driven by the will and enthusiasm of the owners, Ed and Elena, who's desire for a stylish and contemporary family home kept the project focused on achieving their goals. Our design contrasts restored Victorian interiors with a strikingly simple, glass and timber kitchen extension - and matching loft home office.

The brief was to design a portico side Extension for an existing home to add more storage space for shoes, coats and above all, create a warm welcoming entrance to their home. Materials - Brick (to match existing) and birch plywood.
