Granny Flat

Many garden rooms are a simple box, but this project had to be different because of the odd shape of the garden. We combined the geometry with a raw exposed timber structure to create an interesting garden office space. The oversized stud work is clad in seared larch cladding on the outside with 170mm of insulation ans plywood internal wall lining. The internal part of the timber studs projects one foot into the space creating a shelving system and table cantilever from the structure allowing for a flexible and functional space. Large glass sliding panels frame the garden with a central skylight capping the vaulted roof. Externally a green sedum room blends the structure into the mature garden.

The Potting Shed is how a shed should look. It has a steep pitched roof with a generous overhang which, along with the small pane windows gives it a traditional look which will blend into any garden.

This elegant garden offers interest at every corner. The warm tones in the striking rusted copper steps are complimented in the wood used throughout and the gravel. The whole garden is framed by beautiful twisted canopy wisteria trees.

Denna stuga, kallad Friluftsstugan, är ritad av Johan Svartnäs och levereras av Kenjo – Öppna rum. Friluftsstugan är 15 kvadratmeter och därmed bygglovsfri. Taket är utskjutbart och kan anpassas efter det behov som önskas. Du väljer själv om du önskar stugan levererad för året-runt bruk eller sommarboende!

This tree house is built on an old oak tree in a Canterbury garden. The designed was informed by what was best for the tree, both structurally and visually, and by the old Tudor buildings of nearby Canterbury. It has staircase that spirals around the trunk, and takes you first to the tree house and then to a 4m high observation deck with benches.
