This eclectic style garage door with its flare of Mid Century Modern design was crafted in solid mahogany horizontal planks. The top windows were done in a group of three for a modernistic asymmetrical appearance that deviates from the norm of four panel window clusters that has been overused in the industry for way too long. Each window is gorgeously framed with a silver-coated steel frame that holds a white laminate glass panes that allow ample natural light to shine through and light up the inside of the garage while the opaqueness of the glass offers privacy from outside onlookers. The silver metal window frames against the dark stained mahogany make a beautiful contrast that accentuates the three window pane look that is a focal feature in itself. CBI Design Professionals, Inc.The home is roughly 80 years old and had a strong character to start our design from. The home had been added onto and updated several times previously so we stripped back most of these areas in order to get back to the original house before proceeding. The addition started around the Kitchen, updating and re-organizing this space making a beautiful, simply elegant space that makes a strong statement with its barrel vault ceiling. We opened up the rest of the family living area to the kitchen and pool patio areas, making this space flow considerably better than the original house. The remainder of the house, including attic areas, was updated to be in similar character and style of the new kitchen and living areas. Additional baths were added as well as rooms for future finishing. We added a new attached garage with a covered drive that leads to rear facing garage doors. The addition spaces (including the new garage) also include a full basement underneath for future finishing – this basement connects underground to the original homes basement providing one continuous space. New balconies extend the home’s interior to the quiet, well groomed exterior. The homes additions make this project’s end result look as if it all could have been built in the 1930’s.
Keri Murray ArchitectureStylistically, the Boston Victorian Project was as much about matching history as it was adding style to the lot. Careful consideration was paid to scale and structure; detail choices (in the form of eyebrow dormers that complimented the existing house) combined with colorful exterior materials provide a sense of old style that tie the 12,000 SF lot together.
This "Neighborhood Gem", built around 1880, was owned by the previous family for 78 years!! The exterior still bares original details and the expectation was to design a detached three car garage that was in scale with this architectural style while evoking a sense of history.
Although this will be a newly constructed structure, the goal was to root it in the site, keep it in scale with its surroundings, and have it look and feel as though it has stood there for as long as the main house. A particular goal was to breakup the massing of the generous 820 SF structure which was successful by recessing one of the three garage bays.

The Swift Organisation LtdThe build is a luxury home gym in South Yorkshire. It has a number of high end extras including a sauna, climate control/air-conditioning, extra headroom for lifting weights, and we successfully gained planning permission on behalf of our client for the build. Needless to say our client is thrilled to bits with it!
Cedar Park Overhead DoorsThis project has many different features. We designed custom, wood-free overhead garage doors to match the home's exterior features. The doors were installed using a high-lift operating system, which makes room for the customized car lift. We used a LiftMaster Jackshaft opener as the operator for these high-lifted overhead garage doors.
This makes it easy and convenient to park more cars inside your existing garage, maximize space and reduce clutter.
The project was custom-built and installed by Cedar Park Overhead Doors, which has been serving the greater Austin, TX area for more than 30 years.
yardscapes Inc.This Edina, MN project started when the client’s contacted me about their desire to create a family friendly entertaining space as well as a great place to entertain friends. The site amenities that were incorporated into the landscape design-build include a swimming pool, hot tub, outdoor dining space with grill/kitchen/bar combo, a mortared stone wood burning fireplace, and a pool house.
The house was built in 2015 and the rear yard was left essentially as a clean slate. Existing construction consisted of a covered screen porch with screens opening out to another covered space. Both were built with the floor constructed of composite decking (low lying deck, one step off to grade). The deck also wrapped over to doorways out of the kitchenette & dining room. This open amount of deck space allowed us to reconsider the furnishings for dining and how we could incorporate the bar and outdoor kitchen. We incorporated a self-contained spa within the deck to keep it closer to the house for winter use. It is surrounded by a raised masonry seating wall for “hiding” the spa and comfort for access. The deck was dis-assembled as needed to accommodate the masonry for the spa surround, bar, outdoor kitchen & re-built for a finished look as it attached back to the masonry.
The layout of the 20’x48’ swimming pool was determined in order to accommodate the custom pool house & rear/side yard setbacks. The client wanted to create ample space for chaise loungers & umbrellas as well as a nice seating space for the custom wood burning fireplace. Raised masonry walls are used to define these areas and give a sense of space. The pool house is constructed in line with the swimming pool on the deep/far end.
The swimming pool was installed with a concrete subdeck to allow for a custom stone coping on the pool edge. The patio material and coping are made out of 24”x36” Ardeo Limestone. 12”x24” Ardeo Limestone is used as veneer for the masonry items. The fireplace is a main focal point, so we decided to use a different veneer than the other masonry areas so it could stand out a bit more.
The clients have been enjoying all of the new additions to their dreamy coastal backyard. All of the elements flow together nicely and entertaining family and friends couldn’t be easier in this beautifully remodeled space.
