Root Connection
We created a regenerative and sustainable display garden for the Portland Home and Garden Show using repurposed materials and native plants. Our garden contained a Asian inspired reclaimed lumber pergola with green roof, permeable pavers, an abundance of native plant materials, and natural stone water feature.

A custom address sign is lit from behind with a LED light tile and compliments the more contemporary landscape design for the front entry. The concrete pier is designed as a planter.

Dig Your Garden Landscape Design
Plant combination of Asparagus Foxtail Fern and Dianella tasmanica variegata along with succulents and FX Luminaire low-voltage pathway lighting. The front areas of this landscape in Bel Marin Keys, Novato, were transformed from a tired, water thirsty-lawn into a contemporary setting with dramatic concrete pavers leading to the home's entrance. A variety of low-water plants for sun and part shade complete this project front yard transformation. Installed in February 2014. More plant updates early 2015. The back areas of this transformation is featured in a separate project: Modern Water-Side Landscape Remodel http://www.houzz.com/projects/456093/Modern-Water-Side-Landscape-Remodel---Lawn-Replaced--Novato--CA

Ecoscape Environmental Design
Ecoscape's landscape designer, Laura Green, skillfully transformed her once weedy and over-grown back yard into an outdoor entertaining and lounging space. The clean lines, mixed textures, native trees and shrubs aren't fussy or overdone. Here, the vacant space is as integral to the overall landscape design as the filled space.

The courtyard of the house was based off the old industrial marine boatyards, with exposed brickwork and small square glazed panels. Over the generations, they were often patched and repaired with different glass panels, resulting in variance in colour and transparency. The steel framed doors open into the sunken courtyard that not only allowed for privacy but giving opportunity to create intrigue by way of light and shadow, dimension, and reflection - through lighting, materiality, wall openings and a water feature.

The conversation area is near the swimming pool, and surrounds a black lava fire pit. A fairway separates the back yard from the nearby desert mountain.
BE Landscape Design
Custom built for fire resistance. Board formed concrete seating and patio. Color added to blend into the existing granite hillside. Salt finish adds texture to camouflage into the surroundings. Custom metal pergola and under bench lighting add to the uniqueness of this hilltop hangout.
