Uniik DesignFor their basement renovation, our clients wanted to update their basement and also dedicate an area for a bar and seating area. They are an active young family that entertains and loves watching movies together so an aesthetically pleasing and comfortable seating area by the bar was essential.
In this modern design we decided to go with a soft neutral colour palette that brought more light into the basement. For the cabinets, we wanted to define contrast so we went with a beautiful espresso finish that also complimented the luxury vinyl plank floor.
Pierre Jean-Baptiste InteriorsThe basement bar area includes eye catching metal elements to reflect light around the neutral colored room. New new brass plumbing fixtures collaborate with the other metallic elements in the room. The polished quartzite slab provides visual movement in lieu of the dynamic wallpaper used on the feature wall and also carried into the media room ceiling. Moving into the media room we included custom ebony veneered wall and ceiling millwork, as well as luxe custom furnishings. New architectural surround speakers are hidden inside the walls. The new gym was designed and created for the clients son to train for his varsity team. We included a new custom weight rack. Mirrored walls, a new wallpaper, linear LED lighting, and rubber flooring. S.Flynn Design + BuildImportantly, the homeowners didn’t want their basement to function as a TV room, as they have a separate theater for movie watching. Rather, they wanted this space to facilitate conversation and provide room for games. So instead of adding a TV and a couch, we designed and built a comfortable, chic booth with shelving in a deep walnut tone. Also, to keep the booth cohesive with the rest of the house, we carried many of the same blue finishes from upstairs down to the basement. We love the lux tufted velvet on the seat and the shimmering wall treatment surrounding the booth.

Riegis Design Co. LLCThey wanted to use an unused basement space for entertainment and fun activities. They wanted to have an Irish pub feel to it with a little bit of class!

In between the two cabinets is a stainless steel drink cooler. The countertop is a white, quartz fitted with an undermounted sink equipped with a stainless steel faucet. Above the wet bar are two white, wooden cabinets with glass recessed panels and black metallic handles. Connecting the two upper cabinets are two wooden, floating shelves with a dark brown stain. The wet bar backsplash is a white and gray ceramic tile laid in a mosaic style that runs up the wall between the cabinets.
