Linda McDougald Design | Postcard from Paris HomeThe design of this refined mountain home is rooted in its natural surroundings. Boasting a color palette of subtle earthy grays and browns, the home is filled with natural textures balanced with sophisticated finishes and fixtures. The open floorplan ensures visibility throughout the home, preserving the fantastic views from all angles. Furnishings are of clean lines with comfortable, textured fabrics. Contemporary accents are paired with vintage and rustic accessories.
To achieve the LEED for Homes Silver rating, the home includes such green features as solar thermal water heating, solar shading, low-e clad windows, Energy Star appliances, and native plant and wildlife habitat.

JayMarc HomesThe Kelso's Kitchen boasts a beautiful combination of modern and rustic elements. The black cabinet and drawer hardware, along with the brass and gold kitchen faucets, add a touch of sophistication and elegance. The French oak hardwood floors lend a warm and inviting atmosphere to the space, complemented by the sleek gray cabinets and the stunning gray quartz countertop. The matte black pendant lighting fixtures create a bold statement, while the metal counter stools add a contemporary flair. The mosaic backsplash and white subway tile provide a timeless and classic backdrop to the kitchen's design. With white walls and a wood shroud, the overall aesthetic is balanced and harmonious, creating a space that is both functional and visually appealing.
RIKB Design BuildWhole house remodel in Narragansett RI. We reconfigured the floor plan and added a small addition to the right side to extend the kitchen. Thus creating a gorgeous transitional kitchen with plenty of room for cooking, storage, and entertaining. The dining room can now seat up to 12 with a recessed hutch for a few extra inches in the space. The new half bath provides lovely shades of blue and is sure to catch your eye! The rear of the first floor now has a private and cozy guest suite.

Dixon ProjectsThis modern kitchen features a large center island and an open concept design. The wall cabinets have slab doors with integrated pulls and the island cabinets have white oak veneer with a horizontal grain, stained to match the white oak hardwood floors. The counter is Caesarstone quartz and the back splash is a milk porcelain tile. You'll also find an undermount sink, high arc faucet, Bertazzoni cooktop and hood, a Bosch dishwasher, a Summit wine cooler, an integrated refrigerator, and Bertazzoni double wall ovens. Loft grande black pendant lights and a NanaWall glass door system complete this space.
Perla Windows LtdA quite magnificent use of slimline steel profiles was used to design this stunning kitchen extension. 3 large format double doors and a fix triangular window fitted with solar glass.
Village Home StoresCustom Amish-built cabinetry in a combination of Rustic Alder, White, and Gray painted finishes. Open concept kitchen with large island, dinette, hutch, and wetbar. Nearby laundry, mudroom, powder room, dining and living rooms also get a new look. Cambria Brittanicca Warm quartz and KitchenAid appliances also featured. Quad Cities area remodel from start to finish by Village Home Stores.
Designs by BSBThe clients believed the peninsula footprint was required due to the unique entry points from the hallway leading to the dining room and the foyer. The new island increases storage, counters and a more pleasant flow of traffic from all directions.
The biggest challenge was trying to make the structural beam that ran perpendicular to the space work in a new design; it was off center and difficult to balance the cabinetry and functional spaces to work with it. In the end it was decided to increase the budget and invest in moving the header in the ceiling to achieve the best design, esthetically and funcationlly.
Specific storage designed to meet the clients requests include:
- pocket doors at counter tops for everyday appliances
- deep drawers for pots, pans and Tupperware
- island includes designated zone for baking supplies
- tall and shallow pantry/food storage for easy access near island
- pull out spice near cooking
- tray dividers for assorted baking pans/sheets, cutting boards and numerous other serving trays
- cutlery and knife inserts and built in trash/recycle bins to keep things organized and convenient to use, out of sight
- custom design hutch to hold various, yet special dishes and silverware
Elements of design chosen to meet the clients wishes include:
- painted cabinetry to lighten up the room that lacks windows and give relief/contrast to the expansive wood floors
- monochromatic colors throughout give peaceful yet elegant atmosphere
o stained island provides interest and warmth with wood, but still unique in having a different stain than the wood floors – this is repeated in the tile mosaic backsplash behind the rangetop
- punch of fun color used on hutch for a unique, furniture feel
- carefully chosen detailed embellishments like the tile mosaic, valance toe boards, furniture base board around island, and island pendants are traditional details to not only the architecture of the home, but also the client’s furniture and décor.
- Paneled refrigerator minimizes the large appliance, help keeping an elegant feel
Superior cooking equipment includes a combi-steam oven, convection wall ovens paired with a built-in refrigerator with interior air filtration to better preserve fresh foods.
