Ann Lowengart InteriorsThe three-level Mediterranean revival home started as a 1930s summer cottage that expanded downward and upward over time. We used a clean, crisp white wall plaster with bronze hardware throughout the interiors to give the house continuity. A neutral color palette and minimalist furnishings create a sense of calm restraint. Subtle and nuanced textures and variations in tints add visual interest. The stair risers from the living room to the primary suite are hand-painted terra cotta tile in gray and off-white. We used the same tile resource in the kitchen for the island's toe kick.

Dan Kitchens AustraliaModern kitchen renovation within a pre-war era home in Mosman. The existing room was extended to enlarge the kitchen space whilst also providing the opportunity to improve natural lighting. The overall layout of the kitchen remains the same with the exception of a large scullery/pantry at one end and minor layout optimisations.

Fiorito Interior DesignThe request from my client for this kitchen remodel was to imbue the room with a rustic farmhouse feeling, but without the usual tropes or kitsch. What resulted is a beautiful mix of refined and rural. To begin, we laid down a stunning silver travertine floor in a Versailles pattern and used the color palette to inform the rest of the space. The bleached silvery wood of the island and the cream cabinetry compliment the flooring. Of course the stainless steel appliances continue the palette, as do the porcelain backsplash tiles made to look like rusted or aged metal. The deep bowl farmhouse sink and faucet that looks like it is from a bygone era give the kitchen a sense of permanence and a connection to the past without veering into theme-park design.

北側の薄暗く奥まったダイニングキッチンが明るく開放的な造りとなった

Designer’s Note: One of the main project goals was to develop a kitchen space that complimented the homes quality while blending elements of the new kitchen space with the homes eclectic materials.
Japanese Ash veneers were chosen for the main body of the kitchen for it's quite linear appeals. Quarter Sawn White Oak, in a natural finish, was chosen for the island to compliment the dark finished Quarter Sawn Oak floor that runs throughout this home.
The west end of the island, under the Walnut top, is a metal finished wood. This was to speak to the metal wrapped fireplace on the west end of the space.
A massive Walnut Log was sourced to create the 2.5" thick 72" long and 45" wide (at widest end) living edge top for an elevated seating area at the island. This was created from two pieces of solid Walnut, sliced and joined in a book-match configuration.
The homeowner loves the new space!!

Pineapple House Interior DesignThere is abundant storage in this kitchen. It offers a wall of decorative cabinetry and two islands. The wall of cabinets include a door into a large walk-in pantry located behind the cabinetry’s façade, which is a fun surprise for visitors. Antique, mirrored glass-door cabinets flank the kitchen hood and a pop-up television raises from front island’s quartzite countertop when the cook or guests want to engage. In this photo, the vase and bowl are covering the tv's quartzite cover.
