NJW ConstructionWhat this Mid-century modern home originally lacked in kitchen appeal it made up for in overall style and unique architectural home appeal. That appeal which reflects back to the turn of the century modernism movement was the driving force for this sleek yet simplistic kitchen design and remodel.

Siobhan Donoghue DesignThe kitchen redesign with a new eat-in kitchen nook with built-in banquettes upholstered in leather. To add an element of fun we played with the tufted button colours. Subtle details are something we love to add to projects to create layers of interest in each space. Its important to keep spaces fun. The natural light in this space is spectacular.
Higham FurnitureShaker kitchen painted in Farrow & Ball 'Cornforth White' with double height glazed wall units and curved island.
Worktops are Jura Grey limestone and Ebony stained oak.
The floors are Tundra honed limestone tiles.
Braitman Design StudioA view of the kitchen from the nearby family room. We stayed true to the early 20th century style of the historic home by installing light fixtures and cabinetry styles reflective of that era. Although we hoped to keep the original heart-of-pine flooring, we had to replace it with reclaimed heart-of-pine, which closely matches the floor's original tones.
Braitman Design StudioOriginally, our clients were leaning toward a more neutral color scheme for the kitchen, to offset the home's otherwise vibrant palette. After falling in love with the deep red quartz countertops, however, they compromised by selecting calming grey and green tones for the kitchen walls and cabinetry. The stainless steel refrigerator, range hood, microwave, and oven contrast refreshingly with the overall color palette of the room.

White Oak floating shelves with LED underlighting over beautiful, Cambria Quartz countertops. The subway tiles were custom made and have what appears to be a texture from a distance, but is actually a herringbone pattern in-lay in the glaze. Wolf brand gas range and oven, and a Wolf steam oven on the left. Rustic black wall scones and large pendant lights over the kitchen island. Brizo satin brass faucet with Kohler undermount rinse sink.
