MOJO HOME - Studio d'architecture d'intérieurLes nouveaux espaces entrée et cuisine ont gagné des m2 en récupérant une partie du palier d'étage et les WC attenants. De jolis carreaux de ciment de chez Marazzi ainsi qu'une peinture terracotta assortie de chez Ressource donnent le ton. Une baie vitrée à été crée afin d'ouvrir l'espace au maximum !

Ces nouveaux luminaires sont tout simplement parfaits. Ils donnent encore plus de cachet à la pièce.
Maintenant que Mme C s’est appropriée sa nouvelle cuisine en y intégrant ses objets personnels, je la trouve encore plus accueillante et chaleureuse.
Comme quoi, il y a encore une différence à prendre en compte lorsque vous regardez une cuisine fraîchement installée et une cuisine aménagée.

MainStreet Design BuildThe unique design challenge in this early 20th century Georgian Colonial was the complete disconnect of the kitchen to the rest of the home. In order to enter the kitchen, you were required to walk through a formal space. The homeowners wanted to connect the kitchen and garage through an informal area, which resulted in building an addition off the rear of the garage. This new space integrated a laundry room, mudroom and informal entry into the re-designed kitchen. Additionally, 25” was taken out of the oversized formal dining room and added to the kitchen. This gave the extra room necessary to make significant changes to the layout and traffic pattern in the kitchen.
By creating a large furniture style island to comfortably seat 3, possibilities were opened elsewhere on exterior walls. A spacious hearth was created to incorporate a 48” commercial range in the existing nook area. The space gained from the dining room allowed for a fully integrated refrigerator and microwave drawer. This created an “L” for prep and clean up with room for a small wine bar and pantry storage.
Many specialty items were used to create a warm beauty in this new room. Custom cabinetry with inset doors and a hand painted, glazed finish paired well with the gorgeous 3 ½” thick cherry island top. The granite was special ordered from Italy to coordinate with the hand made tile backsplash and limestone surrounding the stone hearth.

三方が住宅に囲まれた密集地で、道路より敷地が約40㎝高くなっていました。
その敷地の高低差を利用し、リビングの床の高さを低くしています。
通常は、敷地が高い場合、玄関前のポーチ階段により、数段上がって家に入ります。
荻曽根の家では、家の中で徐々に上がるようにしました。
そして、2階の床も少し上げています。
2階の少し床をあげることにより、1階と2階のつながりが生まれ、下記の点のメリットがでています。
・視線の抜け、広がり感
・家族間のコミュニケーション
・風の抜け
・採光をとりやすくなる
リビングは、南側からの採光を高窓から主に採り入れています。
隣家からのプライバシーも保ちやすいです。
さらに、視線の抜けや広がり感を演出し、1階と2階で家族のコミュニケーションも取りやすくなっています。
