JFD - Juri Favilli DesignQuando le sorelle Vezzosi hanno deciso di Ristrutturare questa Casa rivolgendosi all’Architetto JFD di Milano l’interrogativo è stato subito: come ricavare una seconda camera? Antonella e Annarosa stavano cercando di affittare questa loro casa d’infanzia da ben più di un anno, ma nonostante la posizione fantastica in centro a Empoli, a due passi dalla stazione, e nonostante l’appartamento fosse all’interno di un grazioso complesso di inizio secolo scorso, non riuscivano a trovare persone interessate.
Il motivo era la strana distribuzione degli ambienti, con una sola camera enorme, e gli ambienti giorno mal divisi, per una metratura totale però di quasi 70 mq. Dovevamo inventarci la seconda camera e ci siamo riusciti con uno stravolgimento delle stanze che ha visto il bagno spostarsi al centro dell’appartamento, e per nascondere le tubazioni di scarico e areazione si è creata una contro parete in cui abbiamo intarsiato una libreria che è diventata poi la protagonista della ristrutturazione di questo appartamento.

The client from Radlett near St Albans, wanted a space that was bang on trend and perfect for entertaining loved ones, but also a multi-functional space that they could enjoy the kids growing up in.
There’s so much seating space in this area now, there’s certainly room for everyone, and the abundance of Siemens ovens makes this a real hosting kitchen.
Our favourite part of this kitchen? The concrete quartz worktop. The industrial trend is really making a statement this year, but this hard-wearing worktop will last for years to come!

Ellie K DesignThis coastal, contemporary Tiny Home features a warm yet industrial style kitchen with stainless steel counters and husky tool drawers with black cabinets. the silver metal counters are complimented by grey subway tiling as a backsplash against the warmth of the locally sourced curly mango wood windowsill ledge. I mango wood windowsill also acts as a pass-through window to an outdoor bar and seating area on the deck. Entertaining guests right from the kitchen essentially makes this a wet-bar. LED track lighting adds the right amount of accent lighting and brightness to the area. The window is actually a french door that is mirrored on the opposite side of the kitchen. This kitchen has 7-foot long stainless steel counters on either end. There are stainless steel outlet covers to match the industrial look. There are stained exposed beams adding a cozy and stylish feeling to the room. To the back end of the kitchen is a frosted glass pocket door leading to the bathroom. All shelving is made of Hawaiian locally sourced curly mango wood. A stainless steel fridge matches the rest of the style and is built-in to the staircase of this tiny home. Dish drying racks are hung on the wall to conserve space and reduce clutter.

The cabinets are a mixture of flat and panelled doors in grey tones, whilst the mobile island is in contrasting graphite and oak. There is a lot of flexible storage in the space with a multitude of drawers replacing wall cabinets, and all areas are clearly separated in to zones- including a dedicated space for storing all food, fresh, frozen and ambient.
The home owner was not afraid to take risks, and the overall look is contemporary but timeless with a touch of fun thrown in!
Classic Kitchens, Etc.An open and airy kitchen remodel that invited the kitchen to be a part of the living space beyond its original enclosing walls. This spacious design features all new shaker style cabinets finished in the darker grey color, “Thunder”. Timeless and sturdy Quartz countertops, with a look that mimics carrara marble, were chosen, along with the porcelain 3x6 tile around the cabinetry, also mimicking carrara marble. The stylish cabinetry features two pull out cabinet inserts, one containing an elongated shelf for spices and such, the other with room for cooking utensils and a knife block, plus custom open shelving surrounding the window location. The sink was replaced, and relocated from under the window facing outside, to become the apron front, stainless steel sink, located inside the island between the living area and the kitchen, tying the two rooms together. In order to expand and open the kitchen, the two interior bearing walls were removed and replaced with a single flush mount beam, new posts and larger footings for weight support.
