K Two Designs, Inc.The exterior of this townhome is sheathed in sheet metal to give it an industrial vibe. This called for the same approach for the interior. The intimate kitchen was gutted to replace it with industrial, hardworking appliances. An European style refrigerator was installed that was taller but a thinner profile to take up less room and the molding was made wider so that the door could swing open without hitting the wall as it was in the old appliance. An industrial farmhouse sink was selected for its look and function, and the chef pull-down sprayer kitchen faucet gave the kitchen added character.
May Construction, Inc.Strategically opposite, the heart of the home, the kitchen, radiates both functionality and style. A spacious island, seating four and featuring an integrated microwave, is colored light grey, contrasting beautifully with the white cabinets adorned with gold knobs and pulls. Culinary enthusiasts will appreciate the Wolf sealed burner range top with its six burners and an infrared griddle, alongside the Wolf built-in double wall oven.
The 48" Sub-Zero refrigerator and the adjacent 24” Sub-Zero undercounter wine refrigerator offer ample storage for beverages. A farm-style white sink and the Studio Snow Cap Arabesque glossy beveled tile backsplash, paired with a grey stone accent tile behind the range, add layers of aesthetic texture. Polished quartz slabs provide a gleaming finish to the countertops.
Kisha Gianni DesignsWe cut open the structural wall that divided the living room and kitchen but needed to leave a header and post for support. They were clad in reclaimed barn wood and we turned this new structure into a bar area.
Walczak Design And BuildOur clients came to us with their vision and an ask to create a timeless family space grounded in their English roots.
What resulted was just that: an open and bright English-inspired kitchen featuring custom inset-cabinetry in three painted finishes, aged brass hardware, a large range alcove with built-in shelving, oversized island with plenty of prep space with oversized brass bell pendants and a 12' floor to ceiling pantry.
While carefully designed and expertly crafted, the kitchen is "no -fuss" in personality and quite livable for the family which were two must-haves characteristics for the homeowners.
To achieve the look and flow, the former posts in the kitchen were removed and two 24' steel beams were installed to support the second floor. All beams, new and old, were sanded down and refinished with a custom stain.
We created an opening into the dining room, letting light stream through throughout the day and creating sight lines from room-to-room for this busy family.
Modifications were made to the framing of adjacent rooms to allow for the floor-to-ceiling pantry to be installed. New paint, refinished floors, new appliances, and windows were also a part of the overall scope.

Benvenuti and SteinCustom made transitional cabinetry blends with the rustic elements of this Chicago North Shore kitchen for a beautiful update. The faux finished range hood complements the hanging antique copper pots and pans. Dual sink faucets facilitate prep, cooking and clean-up.
