Because we kept the original granite, I had to come up with a cabinet color that would work with the granite & new waterproof, luxury vinyl plank flooring. I came up with the perfect base and glaze colors - the pictures don't do it justice!

Gorgeous kitchen upgrade with new luxury vinyl plank flooring throughout, new appliances, tile backsplash, custom finish, painted & glazed doors & drawers, hardware, and recessed lighting. We kept the original cabinet boxes, with exception of the microwave & oven cabinet, & an addition to the island.

To replace an Old World style kitchen, we created a new space with farmhouse elements coupled with our interpretation of modern European detailing. With our focus on improving function first, we removed the old peninsula that closed off the kitchen, creating a location for conversation and eating on the new cantilevered countertop which provides interesting, yet purposeful design. A custom designed European cube shelf system was created, incorporating integrated lighting inside Rift Sawn oak shelves to match our base cabinetry. After building the shelf system, we placed it in front of the handmade art tile backsplash, bringing a very modern element to contrast with our custom inset cabinetry. Our design team selected the Rift sawn oak for the base cabinets to bring warmth into the space and to contrast with the white upper cabinetry. We then layered matt black on select drawer fronts and specific cabinet interiors for a truly custom modern edge. Custom pull outs and interior organizers fulfill our desire for a kitchen that functions first and foremost, while our custom cabinetry and complete design satisfies our homeowners’ desire for wow. Farmhouse style will never be the same.

Pom pom pendant lights top off this beautiful, contemporary kitchen remodel. Sleek & modern, there is still plenty of functional use and room to eat at the island.

A kitchen revamp was in order for a local chef and his wife who, manages a local B&B. The foodie duo were tired of their dingy, poorly designed, 1980's style kitchen and desired a bright and open work space where they can kick back and prepare delicious meals for themselves, when they aren't cooking for other people.
The space was gutted and reconfigured, switching the sink and stove placement, and situating the refrigerator on the opposite wall, to create a better work triangle.
Budget constraints dictated a plan that will be done in phases, and allows more cabinets to be added at a later date, where the open pantry currently lives.
A rolling cabinet, with butcher block top, situated to the right of the stove, (unfinished by the cabinet company at the time of the photo shoot), can be pulled into the room to provide a portable island.
Budget friendly materials were sourced, including luxury vinyl tile for the floors, that mimics the look of concrete, and laminate counter tops that evoke the look of granite.
New lighting, bright subway tile and a sparkle of brass over the sink, make this new kitchen sparkle. Photos by Lisa Wood - Lark and Loom
