Urban 1111 Design, LLCThis living room provides able space for family and friends. The sofa turns into a queen bed, and cushions can be stowed in the sofa compartment. The yellow swivel chairs bring a pop of sunshine! The ores on the wall show the owner's nationality painted to show their flag color, and the middle one has the year the condo was purchased and became a 2nd home. The boats on the mantel are family heirlooms. The client felt that the deer portrait was appropriate for the non-hunters in Wisconsin. The rugs help define the different areas in this open-plan space.
Apartment 46 for the HomeThis photo was taken before the updated firescreen was installed but it shows the newly re-imagined fireplace. To preserve the awesome floating hearth, it was encased in a concrete overlay that disguised the black tile underneath. The brick was refaced with staggered floor to ceiling ledger-stone and a book-matched walnut wraparound mantel completed the look. (See Belmont Renovation) in my projects for more photos.

This Kitsilano Condo with beautiful views of English Bay and the North Shore Mountains lacked the interior lustre of a residence in the city. The goal was to bring into the space materials found in nature, giving them a connection with the outside world. Organic materials and colours were used to really transform this space into a more natural environment. This condo was poorly laid out and the 10’ high ceiling made it feel very vast. With a passion for cooking, our clients wanted to maximize the kitchen space, while taking advantage of the stunning views. The clean and simple lines of the millwork, the appliance integration, and the use of reflective surfaces made this space look and feel bigger and brighter. The ceiling treatment was applied not only as eye candy, but served the purpose of lowering the lighting, providing a better quality of lighting within the space. The bathroom offers a calming experience, again with simple clean lines and natural materials. With the addition of a utility room, a designated area to clean and dry scuba suits was built in. Fun tiles with tropical blues and fish were used to create a full wash tub, and a designated drying area makes this condo truly one of a kind.
INNER SPACE DESIGNSThis space showcases a collection of furnishings and accessories acquired over the past 20 years, from vintage pieces to found objects, family heirlooms to treasured items. Stacks of art and design books are used for side tables.
Sol Haus DesignThe studio has an open plan layout with natural light filtering the space with skylights and french doors to the outside. The bedroom is open to the living area with sliding barn doors. There's plenty of storage above bedroom loft.

Babilon DesignNew paint and flooring created a cleaner space to work with. A larger perspective of space was created with a neutral palette, tall sliding door curtain treatments, and reflective accessories. The cozy and simple furniture gave the space a great traffic flow. The accessories were kept simple and played with beach-like forms and colors.

Essentia Interiors, Ltd.Budget-friendly contemporary condo remodel with lively color block design motif is inspired by the homeowners modern art collection. Pet-friendly Fruitwood vinyl plank flooring flows from the kitchen throughout the public spaces and into the bath as a unifying element. Brushed aluminum thermofoil cabinetry provides a soft neutral in contrast to the highly-figured wood pattern in the flooring.
