Wayde Beckman DesignThis might be a small kitchen but it has a big attitude. It boasts ample drawer storage in the base cabinets topped by a surprising amount of bench space.
The L-shape / Galley style makes the most of the 1.9x3.7m floor space. Despite it's size, theres room for two to work in the kitchen.
A combination of Meteca Woodgrain panels and Trendstone benches provide cost effective, durable finishes. Luna subway tiles, recycled Matai shelves on metal pipe brackets extend the textural themeof the overall design.
To keep the noise down when cooking, we installed a Sirius rangehood with an efficient but (almost) silent exterior mounted motor.
Ann McCulloch Shop & StudioThe original back door was where the small square window is. We moved it around to the side and it now opens into a mudroom that we made from closet space from the family room. The new banquet has a pullout feeding station for the dog and is upholstered in outdoor fabric (which is more childproof). The gold bird wallpaper was original. On the walls that were effected by the remodel, we painted stripes matching the fold birds.

The checkered floor gives the kitchen a playful feel.
Colossus Mfg.This bungalow kitchenette brings in calmer pops of color through a vintage powder blue refrigerator and pink and white subway tiles.
Susan Yeley HomesOur poster project for The Three P's, this small midcentury home south of campus has great bones but lacked vibrancy - a je ne sais quoi that the clients were searching to savoir once and for all. SYI worked with them to nail down a design direction and furniture plan, and they decided to invest in the big-impact items first: built-ins and lighting and a fresh paint job that included a beautiful deep blue-green line around the windows. The vintage rug was an Etsy score at an awesome price, but only after the client spent months scouring options and sources online that matched the vision and dimensions of the plan. A good year later, the West Elm sofa went on sale, so the client took advantage; some time after that, they painted the kitchen, created the drop zone / bench area, and rounded out the room with occasional tables and accessories. Their lesson: in patience, and details, there is beauty.

San Luis Kitchen Co.Here we see double access display cabinets dividing the dining space from the kitchen in this condo. Cherry cabinets with a dark glazed stain and formal doorstyle provide elegance to the small space. We also added pantry storage in the far corner -- again formal cabinetry keeps it from being too "kitcheny".
