Crystal Kitchen + Bath
This small powder bathroom is rich in colors and materials and has many “green” elements. The beautifully handmade floor tiles are in a unique shape (2” x 10”) and are handmade, glazed and fired by North Prairie Tileworks, a local tile company. Each tile is individual in both character and color. Complementing the floors is the natural sisal wall covering in rich copper, bronze and green tones. In addition to its beauty, this product is “breathable” to reduce the risk of mold and bacteria. Classically styled plumbing fixtures and accessories are finished in beautiful polished nickel. Illuminating the room, wall sconces, made from recycled materials in an oil-rubbed bronze finish, flank the wide framed mirror above the sink. All the paint used on this project meets or exceeds standards for LEED & Green Seal certification.
Bathrooms By Oldham
Bathrooms by Oldham were engaged by Judith & Frank to redesign their main bathroom and their downstairs powder room.
We provided the upstairs bathroom with a new layout creating flow and functionality with a walk in shower. Custom joinery added the much needed storage and an in-wall cistern created more space.
In the powder room downstairs we offset a wall hung basin and in-wall cistern to create space in the compact room along with a custom cupboard above to create additional storage. Strip lighting on a sensor brings a soft ambience whilst being practical.

A small powder room is paneled in vintage yardsticks collected for years from all over the country! 95 sticks. Black baseboard and chair rail accentuate the whimsical bunny wallpaper and tin ceiling. The floor is old linoleum painted in a colorful check pattern.

The original shiplap ceiling was kept in the powder room as it offers a nice contrast to the white walls and fixtures. Floating shelves above the toilet were installed to match shiplap. The vanity cabinet's blue paint match mirror the client had and the pattern of the concrete tile flooring.

Red Fred Design
I designed this tiny powder room to fit in nicely on the 3rd floor of our Victorian row house, my office by day and our family room by night - complete with deck, sectional, TV, vintage fridge and wet bar. We sloped the ceiling of the powder room to allow for an internal skylight for natural light and to tuck the structure in nicely with the sloped ceiling of the roof. The bright Spanish tile pops agains the white walls and penny tile and works well with the black and white colour scheme. The backlit mirror and spot light provide ample light for this tiny but mighty space.

Wall-mounted sink and toilet made this small powder room feel much more spacious. The dark color scheme created a cozy sophisticated ambiance.

Sato Architects, Inc.
Sato Architects was hired to update the kitchen, utility room, and existing bathrooms in this 1930s Spanish bungalow. The existing spaces were closed in, and the finishes felt dark and bulky. We reconfigured the spaces to maximize efficiency and feel bigger without actually adding any square footage. Aesthetically, we focused on clean lines and finishes, with just the right details to accent the charm of the existing 1930s style of the home. This project was a second phase to the Modern Charm Spanish Primary Suite Addition.
