Kristen James, AIA, WELL AP + LEED APThe large living room had dark false beams and a beige popcorn ceiling that was removed and changed to a light and bright slatted ceiling with white semigloss beams for added reflectivity from the large windows on either side of the room. The original whitewashed brick fireplace was a key element we wanted to keep and enhance. A large 80's style mantle was removed from the face and two modern bookcases were installed
Soft Furnishings by StephanieDark burgundy and blue plaid window treatments are replaced with Thibaut embroidered linen panels and nail head cornices to lighten up this harvest-toned room. Cornices with bamboo blinds are on the windows flanking the fireplace to maximize the view and natural sunlight.
China Furniture and ArtsA very unique wall shelving unit. The geometric array of shelves creates greater visual interest than a standard square shaped asian curio or china cabinet. Decorate and enjoy!

DC Interiors & RenovationsFor the Parlor, we did a beautiful yellow; the color just glows with warmth; gray on the walls, green rug and red cabinetry makes this one of the most playful rooms I have ever done. We used red cabinetry for TV and office components. And placed them on the wall so the cats can climb up and around the room and red shelving on one wall for the cat walk and on the other cabinet with COM Fabric that have cut outs for the cats to go up and down and also storage.
