The Stove Shop Fireplace CenterWe were very happy to add a beautiful steel glass fireplace door by Design Specialties to this updated brick fireplace. Our customer and his wife did a fabulous job with a mortar wash, steel hearth, steel and riveted banding and a natural edge mantel. Add to that the cool floor and walls and you have an whole new look!

Simply Home DecoratingOur goal on this project was to make the main floor of this lovely early 20th century home in a popular Vancouver neighborhood work for a growing family of four. We opened up the space, both literally and aesthetically, with windows and skylights, an efficient layout, some carefully selected furniture pieces and a soft colour palette that lends a light and playful feel to the space. Our clients can hardly believe that their once small, dark, uncomfortable main floor has become a bright, functional and beautiful space where they can now comfortably host friends and hang out as a family. Design Connection, Inc.Wanting to maintain the traditional look of their eye-catching fireplace, we decided against mounting the TV above the mantel. We designed custom cabinets that flank each side of the fireplace and discreetly house the television components. By faux painting these cabinets using the color of the surrounding walls, this dominating feature wall effortlessly blends in with the rest of this space. The dark aqua accent wall brings this room to life as a focal point against the brick fireplace and is paired perfectly with the colors in the fabrics and drapery.

WrightWorks, LLCThe original masonry fireplace, with brick veneer and floating steel framed hearth. The hearth was re-surfaced with a concrete, poured in place counter material. Kristen James, AIA, WELL AP + LEED APThe large living room had dark false beams and a beige popcorn ceiling that was removed and changed to a light and bright slatted ceiling with white semigloss beams for added reflectivity from the large windows on either side of the room. The original whitewashed brick fireplace was a key element we wanted to keep and enhance. A large 80's style mantle was removed from the face and two modern bookcases were installed
