A gorgeous and glamorous 687 sf Loft Apartment in the Heart of Downtown Los Angeles, CA. Small Spaces...BIG IMPACT is the theme this year: A wide open space and infinite possibilities. The Challenge: Only 3 weeks to design, resource, ship, install, stage and photograph a Downtown LA studio loft for the October 2014 issue of @dwellmagazine and the 2014 @dwellondesign home tour! Henck Design LLCThis luxurious interior tells a story of more than a modern condo building in the heart of Philadelphia. It unfolds to reveal layers of history through Persian rugs, a mix of furniture styles, and has unified it all with an unexpected color story.
The palette for this riverfront condo is grounded in natural wood textures and green plants that allow for a playful tension that feels both fresh and eclectic in a metropolitan setting.
The high-rise unit boasts a long terrace with a western exposure that we outfitted with custom Lexington outdoor furniture distinct in its finishes and balance between fun and sophistication.
Emerick ArchitectsUpon entering the penthouse the light and dark contrast continues. The exposed ceiling structure is stained to mimic the 1st floor's "tarred" ceiling. The reclaimed fir plank floor is painted a light vanilla cream. And, the hand plastered concrete fireplace is the visual anchor that all the rooms radiate off of. Tucked behind the fireplace is an intimate library space.

Pangaea Interior Design, Portland, ORThis is the model unit for modern live-work lofts. The loft features 23 foot high ceilings, a spiral staircase, and an open bedroom mezzanine.
Sidney Sharkey Design, LLCThis family room design features a sleek and modern gray sectional with a subtle sheen as the main seating area, accented by custom pillows in a bold color-blocked combination of emerald and chartreuse. The room's centerpiece is a round tufted ottoman in a chartreuse hue, which doubles as a coffee table. The window is dressed with a matching chartreuse roman shade, adding a pop of color and texture to the space. A snake skin emerald green tray sits atop the ottoman, providing a stylish spot for drinks and snacks. Above the sectional, a series of framed natural botanical art pieces add a touch of organic beauty to the room's modern design. Together, these elements create a family room that is both comfortable and visually striking.

Coddington DesignThe living room is home to a custom, blush-velvet Chesterfield sofa and pale-pink silk drapes. The clear, waterfall coffee table was selected to keep the space open, while the Moroccan storage ottomans were used to store toys and provide additional seating.
