Kimberly Demmy DesignMid Century Modern Renovation - nestled in the heart of Arapahoe Acres. This home was purchased as a foreclosure and needed a complete renovation. To complete the renovation - new floors, walls, ceiling, windows, doors, electrical, plumbing and heating system were redone or replaced. The kitchen and bathroom also underwent a complete renovation - as well as the home exterior and landscaping. Many of the original details of the home had not been preserved so Kimberly Demmy Design worked to restore what was intact and carefully selected other details that would honor the mid century roots of the home. Melinamade - Residential Design + InteriorsA few rare vintage 1950s pieces here along with a custom bone inlay starburst table, hand silk-screened draperies, and sofas designed by Melina Copass & Preston Sharp. Due to the challenging long and narrow shape of this room, custom designed sofas, especially a Tete-a-Tete style, were needed to create combination seating for around the fireplace and the adjacent TV wall. The colors of the furnishings and fabrics are informal and playful, with a magnificent centerpiece – a console hand painted for the 1956 Biennale.
Flavin ArchitectsThis remodel of a mid century gem is located in the town of Lincoln, MA a hot bed of modernist homes inspired by Gropius’ own house built nearby in the 1940’s. By the time the house was built, modernism had evolved from the Gropius era, to incorporate the rural vibe of Lincoln with spectacular exposed wooden beams and deep overhangs.
The design rejects the traditional New England house with its enclosing wall and inward posture. The low pitched roofs, open floor plan, and large windows openings connect the house to nature to make the most of its rural setting.

New skylights are double insulated with safety glass. The challenge was the technical work required to install a vaulted skylight.
All new trims, baseboards and doors in the redone living room. All new, modern lighting was installed.
Heated du chateau flooring was added.

Madison Modern HomeA yellow Mid Century modern chair atop IKEA's new Navajo inspired rug in a modern bungalow in the East L.A. neighborhood of Atwater. A neutral clean-lined sofa sports a bright yellow needlepoint pillow, while vintage amber glass lamps flank it. A glass-topped coffee table, large basket holding books and magazines and a vintage framed watercolor round out the scene.
