Cleator Landscape DesignThis home was in need of a indoor outdoor entertaining space that would compliment the residents desire for clean lines and crisp architectural elements. By adding a lounging area with fire pit, water feature, outdoor kitchen and dinning spaces all atop modern pavers we were able to greatly increase the useable space while providing the polished look the client longed for.

Dig Your Garden Landscape DesignThe front areas of this landscape were transformed from a tired, water thirsty lawn into a contemporary setting with dramatic concrete pavers leading to the home's entrance and a new driveway using large concrete slabs with small black pebbles set in resin. Plants for sun and part shade complete this project. They include Bulbine frutescens 'Hallmark', a non-stop bloomer in northern california with orange/yellow flowers, with Creeping Raspberry (Rubus pentalobus) a tough ground covers that forms a dense matt. Elfin thyme ground cover softens the concrete pathway, and mondo grass on other side of pathway with a Japanese Maple tree accented with Mexican pebbles. Completed in February 2014. LandformsThis client had a very shady spot that would not dry out or grow grass. They wanted to cleanup the side of the house and make it more attractive. We installed a bed of river rock surrounded by over sized cobblestone with natural stepping stones. It gave the space a clean look and made it a nice pathway from getting from the front yard to the back with out getting your shoes dirty.

June Scott DesignDesigned for a Cliff May "Rancho" home, this project resulted comfortable outdoor spaces for relaxation and entertaining. New walls and fencing, softened with lush planting, create a private atmosphere. And a casual, meadow-style garden filled with California native plants echoes the home's open, airy feeling. Cascade Garden DesignAnother type of pond less water feature with the base underneath the dectitive pebble. This one is more of a formal look with a simple copper pipe going up the middle to create a soft bubbling effect. The pump is low voltage and only requires 30 watts to run so quite an efficient system. Surrounded by a beautiful bed of gebras is a great way to have a low to no maintenance water feature in your landscape.

Joanne Green Landscape & InteriorThis new contemporary home required a complementary sub-tropical garden, while maintaining complete practicality due to the horse stables, horse round yards, riding arena, chicken coup and aviary that was required for keeping many well-loved animals.
To achieve this, a number of challenges needed to be overcome, starting with the fact the location and exposed nature of the site meant the plantings needed to withstand some very harsh conditions, including extreme heat in summer and bitter frosts in winter, as well as prevailing winds.
To counter this, we added to the nature strip surrounding the property, increasing the planting to improve privacy and assisting in creating a wind breaks to the gardens – as well as providing a habitat for birds and native wild life.
The garden areas around the main driveway and entry pathways, pool surrounds and spaces around the house were filled with a mixture of hardy plants with a sub-tropical bent, such as
Frangipani’s, N.Z. Flax, Yucca’s, Gardenia’s, Murraya and Bird-of-Paradise, with striking selected succulents as accents.
An extensive driveway of second hand bricks was installed to provide access to the horse stables, house and visitor parking, bordered on both sides by swathes of lush green Flax Lily, Mat Rush and Cardboard Palms, among random sandstone rocks to provide interest.
All the new garden spaces were built with sandstone paving, steel edging and pebble inserts, making use of interesting lighting to highlight key areas and showcase the entire piece.
Several new courtyards with entertainment and living areas were created to ensure the space was liveable for the whole family, and a prominent water feature was installed to give the garden a feeling of tranquillity.
The end result is a beautiful, lush tropical escape that can be enjoyed by everyone – even the horses.
