Ann Lowengart InteriorsThis large gated estate includes one of the original Ross cottages that served as a summer home for people escaping San Francisco's fog. We took the main residence built in 1941 and updated it to the current standards of 2020 while keeping the cottage as a guest house. A massive remodel in 1995 created a classic white kitchen. To add color and whimsy, we installed window treatments fabricated from a Josef Frank citrus print combined with modern furnishings. Throughout the interiors, foliate and floral patterned fabrics and wall coverings blur the inside and outside worlds.

Henrietta Heisler Interiors IncWhen modernizing the dining room in a traditional home, we started with the color palette, pulling blues from other recently remodeled spaces. The chandelier was then selected for its playfulness and impact. Texture was very important in this space, and you'll see layers of texture on on every surface - there is always something interesting for your eye. A main challenge was keeping some existing elements while giving the homeowners a new look that coordinated with the rest of the very traditionally designed home. The clients had differing design views, one wanted modern, straight lines, and the other wanted more curves and decoration. We blended the two ideas using straight lines in furniture, artwork and wallpaper, while allowing texture, and repetition of shapes to add movement.
Simply Home DecoratingWe moved away from our usual light, airy aesthetic toward the dark and dramatic in this formal living and dining space located in a spacious home in Vancouver's affluent West Side neighborhood.
