MDB Design GroupThe home owners wanted to create a place for a wide screen TV, concealed; as well as a place for their extensive book collection. We achieved this with custom cabinets, surround sound and new furniture, window treatments, carpet & area rug. A pair of custom framed panels display an original metal sculpture, that slides open to reveal the TV. The fireplace was surfaced with a large slab of marble to compliment the contemporary design. Recessed halogen lighting was installed in the ceiling in the living room area. The adjacent dining area also received new furniture, lighting and built-in cabinets for storage. The wall between the 2 rooms was perfect for the vinette created. New shear blinds were installed on the windows and sliding doors.

猫と建築社広々として日当たりのよい老猫たちのスペース。
事務所スペースとの間仕切りはポリカーボネイト板を使用。ほどよく目隠ししつつ猫たちの様子も見守る。
上部と引戸は亀甲金網張りとし、空調が全体に行き渡るよう配慮している。

KB Design +This is a custom-built buffet with some storage attached and a new bookshelf. When client opens the large cabinet and shows women that she has everything she needs in one place for entertaining (wine glasses, ice bucket, wine carafe, appetizer plates, decorative bowls and platters, napkins…) they instantly “get it”. They all want one place where they can store that stuff and easily access it.
This area is very close to the kitchen, yet reads separate: by having the buffet not go all the way to the ceiling, it becomes more like a furniture piece than a kitchen cabinet. Also, the wood being a different color than that used in the kitchen also sets it apart from being another kitchen cabinet.
