Une déco de rêveMa cliente très attachée à l'AFRIQUE et à ses collections de livres, j'ai décidé de lui créer plusieurs bibliothèques sur mesure. Grâce à M BASSALER, menuisier sur Cere, notre projet peut enfin se réaliser. Une bibliothèque originale en forme de continent africain est la pièce maitresse du séjour. Plusieurs bibliothèques vont aussi être créées ainsi que plusieurs meubles. L'ambiance reste épurée et colorée en douceur. Tous les objets de décoration, les luminaires, les coffres en bois servant de tables basses, appartiennent à ma cliente. Le but était de conserver u maximum de choses afin d'avoir le budget maximal pour l'ameublement et le revêtement mural. Le chantier est en cours et devrait se terminer en automne.

These pieces, in all their kitschy, sun-soaked glory, often come to us as hand-me-downs from grandparents and aunts or, if we're fortunate, hold court in an old family summer house. For Los Angeles furniture dealer Harvey Schwartz, however, a connection to rattan came from outer space.
Interior designers are calling too. When designing a home for Poppy and Cara Delevingne, Beverly Hills architect Nicolò Bini wanted to create a tropical feel by blurring the lines between indoor and outdoor, a role rattan was born to play. “Poppy wanted something very Hollywood Regency, a California dream home—light, airy, fun,” says Bini. “So I thought that rattan would be the perfect match for her.” Bini, a longtime fan and friend of Schwartz’s, had never before taken a client to Harvey’s warehouse. But when he brought Poppy at the end of a long day of touring furniture shops, “she just absolutely flipped out,” he says. The pieces she ended up buying not only found their way into a central part of the home, but onto the cover of AD last September.

The tables, again, bring our the whimsey that the owner wants. The painting is an original piece by Nantucket artist Elizabeth Congdon. The wooden ceiling adds an artisan touch while helping soften the space.
