Selle Valley Construction, Inc.Our clients wanted a artistic and functional way to store their 750+ bottle wine collection, and wanted to feature it in their living/dining room. Originally drawn to have two sets of glass french doors, we outfitted this room with a automated three-panel retractable La Cantina door When fully opened, the galvanized metal door slides into a pocket (shown here) tucked behind the Bucks County European Castle Stone wall surrounding. A hidden keypad opens and closes the doors. Inside we installed stainless steel paneling, a Cellar Mate System for temperature control, a single column of Vintage View wine racks, and (4) custom designed and fabricated steel wine cubes, holding 100 bottles in each square. Times have changed significantly, design and style as well. What once was that forgotten closet has now metamorphosed into a gorgeous showpiece.
This is exactly the case with this custom wine cellar in Tarzana, Los Angeles, California. Sweeping Glass fronts make this wine room visible and noticed from every angle within the main living area in this home. Right off of the main dining room, this custom cellar exudes elegance, adding a modern and contemporary touch to this otherwise traditional style home.
The upper section includes metal wine racking / metal wine racks with triple depth, showcasing each bottle horizontally so that your favorite labels are front and center.
Directly below lies a sweeping high reveal angled display of the most prized vintages, shown off with LED lighting within. This raw oak wine racking melds perfectly with the mixed colors of beiges and browns within the wooden flooring.
Finishing underneath with a traditional diamond bin design, this wine cellar melds the old with the new, the time honored with the cutting edge - the traditional with the modern. Traditionally, when Vintage Cellars works with clients, we recommend that our wine cellars are built with dual paned, thermally insulated glass so that temperature loss and condensation are non existent. This project, however, utilized a single pane glass to keep the minimalist style. Because of this, the recessed cooling system in the back portion of the cellar has been oversized a touch, to ensure that this wine cellar / wine room / wine closet / under the stairs wine cellar / glass wine cellar / custom wine cellar continues to maintain a constant 55 degree temperature and proper relative humidity.
