Neoclassical Revival House Princeton
The kitchen and breakfast area (beyond) were 'assemble' from existing rooms and even space that was once exterior (breakfast room) was enclosed. We designed new elliptical arches to complement the existing arches and tied the two spaces together.
We often incorporate cookbook shelves in the island, as seen here, which is stained ash topped with Dakota mahogany granite. The island has a stainless steel undermount sink and the cutting board sits over a hole in the granite with a can below, allowing you to chop and then slide anything unwanted directly into the garbage (or compost bin).
