This home office built-in has style and organization wrapped up in one package! Made out of maple and finished in a warm white, the cabinet doors contrast the desk surface (also maple, finished with a tobacco-colored stain), as well as the handsome hardwood floors in the room. The cabinet boxes (interiors) are made from Columbia Forest Products PureBond pre-finished maple plywood. PureBond was chosen upon the customer’s request for a non-toxic building product (PureBond is formaldehyde-free and uses a soy-based adhesive). The upper and lower cabinets provide loads of storage space; two of the lower drawers are also outfitted with custom hanging file racks.
Adjustable LED lighting runs underneath the entire upper cabinet, providing consistent mood or task lighting without cluttering the surface with a task lamp. The wall surface above the desk is a built-in corkboard. Finally, details like integrated crown molding and applied end panels on the lower sides of the desk make this home office both functional and beautiful.
