Tile / Backsplashes

I'm pretty sure I can't stress this enough, PLAN AHEAD. It will make your life easier. I started with a pencil and paper and tape measure. It can save you hours of grief. I also HATE the idea of using a saw (wet or otherwise), I have an irrational fear of losing a finger!! So, all of my tile was easily done with just a tile cutter. I got one that was good for glass as well as ceramic. Now, that being said, I had to use the ceramic tile instead of a travertine tile I also looked at, but to me it was worth it. I also take the easy (but usually more expensive route) and get pre-mixed colored grout. On the kitchen I used a urethane type, becasue of the durability with grease/water, etc. Saved me having to mix the grout, which I do not have the tools for.
