I am curious to know if it is yesso (sp) or stucco (or something else?) and also what type of paint, latex? I am asking bc I am building a cement block house in Mexico and want white walls that I can paint, as opposed to mixing the color into the cement used for the finish. I am only familiar with the sheetrock/drywall walls that I am used to back home. Thanks so much!

I had a smooth white plaster finish for the final coat put on my walls. I did not want any texture on them so they smoothed and sanded them very fine we painted over that. There was no pigment in the plaster finish. Used a primer first and then the final coat. We bought BEHR paint from Home Depot in Cabs San Lucas

Thanks so much for the answer! I wonder if the "plaster" finish is what they call jesso (sp?) (pronounced yeah-so)?
