the floor, the section that is NOT tile, is that poured and colored concrete? Is not this type of floor cold for Vermont winters, or am I mistaken.

    Hi Helena,

What you see here is actually an earthen floor, made of packed sand and clay. It actually does work here in the cold, wet Northeast. The floor you see here we installed for a client in New York state. It is finished with an oil/wax to provide water resistance and strength.

If you have more questions, I'd be happy to answer them. Our website is www.newframeworks.com, and we offer natural building options for renovation and new construction to homeowners. You can also look at http://www.claylin.com/, for more information on the floors themselves. I am a certified Claylin installer.

    All the best,

    Ace
