Hi, I love the wall texture. Could you give any information how to recreate this effect. Does it attract the dust and does it need cleaned / painted regularly.
HI Grieg. This is rough-cast plaster with a limewash finish. It is created by mixing up plaster and throwing it on the walls with a brush. It has to be done evenly, so skills are really important. It is a more vulnerable surface than an impermable paint, but this house is built in a dry and forgiving desert climate, where it is a traditional finish. It has to be re lime-washed every few years. It will carry more dust than a smooth surface, and then can be brushed down. We have not used this finish in a humid climate and are not sure how it will perform there.
