How about one accent wall that pops a different color like maroon and accentuate with some accessories. Faux finishes are fun as well. I like tri-color scumbling.
Seems your spaces have straight/clean lines which might go toward color blocking/ accent, but I wouldn't know which or how....why not a rug? Sorry, I realize you didn't ask, but it can't hurt to bring it up, can it? A rug could go natural/toasty neutrals along lines of your lighting and furniture, with gold as a background.
Thanks everyone for the great feed back. I have my work cut out but ready for the challenge. I've not painted in a few years and looking forward to the change. My last wall color was green so I'm ready to freshen this place up Thanks again
