The kitchen in my new extension

These are the 3D images for my new kitchen. Dream was to have an island, but this just doesn't look right to me and I'm worried the island is too small to be of real use. Any suggestions should I go for a u shape instead?

    Have you considered a peninsula with seating at the rear ? Or turn the island 90 degrees and make longer for more worktop space and seating at the rear. Hope this helps ?

    Because I'm not sure where the door on left comes from - this might not be practical if it's the only route in ( as everyone coming into the new space would have to trail through the kitchen !) - but it's it's only a door to a laundry or utility room - or a second entrance in - this might work ! It could offer you more of an island feel rather than a connected peninsular ...
