These cabinets & kitchen island... HOW?

can somebody please tell me what material is used & what stain (if it is that) to get the look of the faces of these cabinets & the base of the island. I have a light bamboo flooring & I really like the idea of a stained wood type of blacksplash and underneath a few counters, but i need a big contrast. this would be perfect. thank you!
