The Grooves/ Lines on the concrete floor

Nice floor. Is this poured concrete (part of the building slab)? The grooves or scoring on it, are those expansion lines? If so, how did you do it? Did it prevent hairline cracks?

    It is a poured concrete slab approximately 2 1/2" thick and the grooves are hand tooled into the wet concrete to help prevent cracking as it dries.
