What type of exterior trim?

What material did you use for the exterior trim? We are found an addition and using Hardie Board but the Azek trim our architect specified was too expensive.

    This is a standard color hardiboard siding with L.P. smart trim for the trim around the windows, fascia, soffit, frieze board and columns.
