We are finishing our walkout basement and will have a full size pool table. I am considering polished concrete, wood-like porcelain plank tile and luxury vinyl plank flooring. What would be best for heavy pool table to be placed on?
In our last house, I did ¾" T&G over platon with carbonized bamboo. Platon is strong enough to hold up a heavy table while giving an air gap, which means a comfortable floor. I could easily walk on this in bare feet in the winter. The table in this photo is spec'd at 966 lbs.
We install tables on all types of flooring. As long as there is a solid concrete foundation underneath, you should be fine. The table will be best on concrete, or tile floor. Try to avoid an area rug if at all possible. Let us know if we can assist with the pool table ;)
