Need Advice: Carpet or Wood at top of wood staircase

What looks best? Carpet lip over the wood staircase or extend the wood staircase to the top step. If so, full step or just lip over carpet?

Usually we will do a bullnose out of wood on the top step that the carpet would transition into. So visually when you are walking up the stairs they are all the same. I hope this helps!

Yes, a bull nose at the top step with carpet underneath. It looks professional this way. I had it done and love it!
