Hello Paulette, the I actually built the desk out of 2 Michael's 3 drawers storage cubes, a file cabinet and Ikea's Alex 5 drawer unit. The top is a wood craft board from Lowes that I cut, sanded and sealed to fit the length I wanted. And the tall shelf is a shelf I removed the bottom of and fixed to the wood top.

And then you just painted it all the same color?

Thankfully they happened to be the same color. Saved me from having to paint them!
