What did the architect/designer consider when recommending a carpet that would be subject to humidity resulting in mold and/or mildew?

    I specified wool carpeting throughout the house. In my experience wool stands up very well to the humidity (and sand!) of coastal locations. Ten years in it seems to be holding up quite well...
