Hi there. I really love this wide stair runner carpet design. Please can you perhaps tell me who manufactures it? I am up in Manchester sadly, so not in your region. I will be very grateful please if you know where I might be able to source it? Huge thanks if you can and good luck to you. Best wishes indeed, Ian.

Ian - thank you for your message. First - could I ask you to confirm that you receive this response which I hope will help:

We do receive many requests for information about carpets on our website, so please forgive the standard response below, which we hope you find useful. We are a firm of home designers so don't hold stock as such. Your local carpet supplier should be able to obtain samples for you.

    1. Most of the enquiries we receive are for the pale blue, tan, navy and white carpet ….

This carpet is by Crucial Trading (01562 743 747) – Audrey Range – Daybreak WFS6. Their website has a link to find a stockist close to you. If you have a winding staircase, not everyone bends the pattern (note how our design bends the geometry so the stripes line up continually – it costs more in labour time, but it’s worth it) - you could call Crucial directly and see if they recommend a particular fitter near you. If not, we used Chris Groome (07792 130664) – he’s based in Cheltenham but does travel. He cuts each row of loops, curves them round the winder then re-glues them to form a continuous line.

This carpet is at the expensive end of the spectrum (about £115 / m2) - and there can be a lot more waste than one might expect; the carpet is cut from standard 4m width so, because of the striped-pattern repeat, you have to cut the carpet in sections to suit the stairs in such a way that the same stripes line up each time (but you can use the offcuts as runners or mats). One thing you might consider is to have the striped carpet on the stairs as the main feature and to pick a light neutral from one of the stripes for the landing (stripes throughout can be a bit over-powering); your retailer should be able to recommend a good match, if you think it appropriate.

    2. We do receive enquiries on other stair carpets on our website, some of which are now discontinued, so we offer this general advice …
