    Small one on right is a Acer disectum Atropurpureum, You can get neat maples at Marca Dickie Nursery in Boyes Hot Springs, Ca

    Love this garden! I'm lucky enough to have a large Japanese Maple right in my backyard in Santa Rosa, I'll add some ferns as in your photo and have a beautiful garden. Thank you for posting the photo. By the way Richard, last year I had dozens of baby maple seedlings growing in my garden, do they actually grow into full grown trees or can they be trained to become bonsai Maple trees?
