All of the equipment is located in an audio/video rack hidden out of site in the basement. The seemingly "invisible" components rely on Radio Frequency (RF) Control. The components pick up the RF button presses of the remote control upstairs and route the signals via Infra-Red (IR) to the individual pieces of equipment that comprise the system. This technology eliminates the need to “aim” the remotes like we’ve been used to in the past, thus allowing you to hide the components... like an unattractive cable box or DVD player for example. You can also use your smart phone or a tablet to control it!
Hiding the equipment away in an remote equipment room is a great idea! Clean up the local spaces and since most entertainment is streaming now, you don't need to access the majority of your equipment.
Take a look at what I did on this project in Roswell.
