A large living room transformed to be a warm and inviting space with a glamorous feel and high end finishes. Cleverly hiding the TV against a dark wall helps to drawn the eye away from it. Framing the walls with art, accessories and a feature mirror above the fireplace draws the eye to beautiful pieces in the room.

The brief for this project was for the house to be at one with its surroundings. Integrating harmoniously into its coastal setting a focus for the house was to open it up to allow the light and sea breeze to breathe through the building. The first floor seems almost to levitate above the landscape by minimising the visual bulk of the ground floor through the use of cantilevers and extensive glazing. The contemporary lines and low lying form echo the rolling country in which it resides.

A simple backdrop for the tenants to make their own with their furniture and styling. The room was refreshed with paint, a new pendant light, the fireplace was painted, leaving the grey to work with the wall colour and the floor was improved with sanding and oil.

Colour drenching this room in a deep blue, including the fitted cupboards gives this lounge a sophisticated and warm feel. Adding accents of orange to brighten up the space and create a sense of fun, whilst adding a feature wall in a textures almost like a material creates a cocoon effect.

The wall mirrors create another dimension to the room. They allow a multitude of snapshot aspects within the room all in one view. Mixing textures and finishes really brings this room to life. From the textured wallpaper and the frayed detail cushions to the mix of woods and matt black metals in the coffee table, art frame and accessories. A truly comfortable and relaxing space to kick off your shoes and curl up on the sofa for a movie.
