Windows on three sides of the room, combined with an open roof formed with oak trusses and purlins, creates spacious and well-lit living accommodation. The fireplace is formed in reclaimed red bricks with an inset wood burner. The floor and skirting are in oak.

The ground floor of the property has been opened-up as far as possible so as to maximise the illusion of space and daylight. The two original reception rooms have been combined to form a single, grand living room with a central large opening leading to the entrance hall. Victorian-style plaster cornices and ceiling roses, painted timber sash windows with folding shutters, painted timber architraves and moulded skirtings, and a new limestone fire surround have been installed in keeping with the period of the house. A complete refurbishment of an elegant Victorian terraced house within a sensitive conservation area. The project included a two storey glass extension and balcony to the rear, a feature glass stair to the new kitchen/dining room and an en-suite dressing and bathroom. The project was constructed over three phases and we worked closely with the client to create their ideal solution.

A garage conversion into a living room space. Our client requested a tranquil space filled with greens, and natural elements they could enjoy. The specification included storage, soft lighting, and the design had to include the client's original sofa and flooring. We created a lived in space, accentuating the walls with panelling and and overall scheme that didn't feel to "done". We limited the amount of soft furnishing, instead opting for floor to ceiling curtains and an area rug. Personal touches were key to this scheme, for this we incorporated the client's desired artwork.

Le projet Cette maison cloisonnée par d'épais murs porteurs était très difficilement aménageable de par la proportion des pièces et leur coté immuable. Gaëlle et son mari ne se sentaient plus à leur aise dans la pièce qui faisait office d'entrée et de salle à manger au milieu des manteaux et des chaussures dispersées dans la pièce. Quant au salon, il était rempli de divers petits mobiliers disparates et la circulation n'était pas fluide. Ces pièces remplies d'histoires avec leurs murs tordus, leurs poutres, leurs cheminées, leurs pierres (...) avaient besoin d'être sublimées. Il a fallu faire un gros travail d'optimisation des espaces et d'aménagement de meubles sur mesure afin de mettre en lumière cette magnifique maison tout en respectant l'héritage du lieu dans une atmosphère délicate et végétale.
