Another more simple ceiling, I think it is really beautiful again a bit too distressed but the simplicity is great and I would be completely satisfied if there was enough height in my space to pull this off. TAKE HOME POINTS, THE TWO LARGE CENTER BEAMS SUPPORTING A NETWORK OF SMALLER BEAMS AND PLANKS.
This is a great ceiling just wish it was done in a different color of wood. I especially like the angles created on the right side of the photo. While the ceiling isn't really high the sharp angles give it tons of interest and give it a nice steep appearance. Hopefully you can see how this simple yet compelling ceiling screams quaint cottage in the woods.
This would be a simple application, I like the width of the planks and also the size and spacing of the beams. It is a bit simple but I think has a very nice look. You have to blow the picture up and then you can get a sense of the beam at the top of the screen. It is a room in the same house as the next photo. They did a decorative paint on them and started with a brown and then added another layer or two to get that gray white washed feel.
This is a post and beam ceiling, it is one of my favorite ceilings ever and perhaps there are elements that you could incorporate from it. I just find it a nice height but still intimate but also I just really like all the details and especially the arrangement of the beams on the right side of the photo that terminate into the horizontal beam.
This ceiling would be one of my favorites. It is just a tiny bit too busy and if I could improve on it, I would prefer wider planks of wood and a few less beams but I really like all the angles and the interest they provide and the flat pitch of the roof is very similar to what we are doing in my cabin. I would also get rid of the large beams that go across so that the ceiling was more open. I do like all the angles that it creates. I also really like how the beams all converge around a perimeter trim which makes it a nice transition to the white walls underneath the ceiling.
THIS IS ANOTHER ONE OF MY FAVORITE CEILINGS, it is very interesting and has sort of and indoor outdoor feeling. I like the structural feel of it as well as it is not quite as busy as some of the others with a similar design.
This is really nice, nothing too much to complain about except that the wood is a bit boring but I think the style could work very well in my house.
Love the feel and color of this house, the ceiling is too rustic but besides that I love this room and the colors. This is probably one of my favorite rooms ever, just feels like a good place to relax and the colors and feel is very organic.
I LOVE the layout of this ceiling and think it would work as a great inspiration photo for the dormer over the dining room and the dormer over the patio doors. It has just enough beams to be interesting and not too many that it is distracting. The color is not right though.
I really like the feel of this room as well. The color of the beams is almost perfect but I would actually prefer just a shade darker. Like the walls and the way that work together.
This is a nice painted ceiling with some distressing. I would not be disappointed with a ceiling like this. The color is nice but not quite right, but close. I do like the simple geometric pattern of it but do appreciate some of the ceilings that have a bit more interest due to the varied angles.
Another historic home with a nice use of beams without a vaulted ceiling.
Similar idea to our design, darker doors, wood ceiling, paneled walls. Considering drywall but this actually doesn't look too busy which was one of my concerns.
