Aivars Architects are a caring and reliable company that create beautiful homes. Their attention to detail and expertise is exceptional. They designed beautiful bathrooms and joinery for me. We went into great depths working out the heights that were individually ideal for the users and the proportion of rooms. They made a very careful selection of finishes for some tricky bathrooms and are currently designing a cinema room for me. I would recommend them without any hesitation.

Carolina Aivars was engaged by us as our architect as we began to explore a significant extension on our property. Carolina was outstanding from beginning to end of this work. She spent considerable time (pro bono) up front, understanding us, our property and needs both for the present and the future. She was excellent at generating ideas, both visual and practical. We took over 12 months to decide to progress with the build. Carolina maintained an appropriate level of engagement throughout this period, helping us think through the decision in a practical way. Her drawings were clear and creative and in this phase we worked through lots of options. Her management of the tendering process was tenacious and thorough. The initial costs were a bit higher than we had hoped and she worked with us and the preferred builder to find a practical way through this. She offered us a range of pricing options for her involvement and we came up with a solution that kept cost at a reasonable level but maintained her professional involvement. Throughout the build she was always available to answer questions and to discuss ideas and options. During her regular site visit she paid strong attention to detail and on several occasions made a timely intervention that led to a better building outcome. We are delighted with the end result. It was true to the original design and has provided us with a fantastic durable family space which delivers both form and function. Carolina has continued to be available for any ongoing questions. We have recommended her to many of our friends as we were so pleased with the outcome of the project. On a personal note, Carolina was a delight to work with. We had many lively discussions and she took feedback in a really positive way. She is warm, thoughtful and kind and it was clear to us that architecture was much more than a job to Carolina – she is passionate about delivering great results for all involved. We engaged Ms Aivars to help us remodel our kitchen area and improve the flow in our downstairs area and this was very successful so we then asked her to help us remodel our master bedroom and ended up with a very elegant bedroom/bathroom suite. She is very talented at making efficient use of space. She also introduced us to a very good firm of builders and supervised their work, ensuring that it was consistently of a high standard.

Carolina and I collaborated on architectural projects in London and New York for a decade (1995-2005). These were mainly small scale residential projects at which Carolina excels (although she has considerable experience at large scale interiors as well). She imaginatively makes the best use of space - both spatially and practically - while paying great attention to detail. This invariably results in a stylish and quality outcome. Carolina is a pleasure to work with, respectful of what a client wants to achieve and extremely professional at all times.

We have known Carolina Aivars for well over ten years and, in 2008/09, we commissioned Carolina in her professional capacity as an architect to design and oversee the complete refurbishment of a family house we had bought in Kentish Town, North-West London. This Victorian house was in a state of near total disrepair and repaired major works. Carolina produced an excellent, imaginative design scheme within a tight budget and supervised the work of the contractor. Happily, the project turned out to be a compete success. Six years after moving in to the house, we remain delighted with the work of both Carolina Aivars. The project was completed on time and within budget. At all times, Carolina acted in a highly professional manner, with great integrity. She was especially careful to help us find the most economical means of producing the spaces and facilities we needed. We appreciated Carolina's ability to find creative options and she took great care to understand the needs of our family in executing the project. We have since recommended Carolina to friends who have retained Carolina, who have told us privately how pleased they have been with her work for them. We are now contemplating adding some additional space and we have already asked Carolina to be involved in this next project, should we proceed. In fact, we would not embark on a project requiring the expertise of an architect without that being Carolina Aivars, so good was our experience last time.

Au arms architects did a wonderful job in the design construction and finish of my home. Throughout the procedure they took all the stress of the project and guided me through choosing the fixtures. I have a beautifully designed home, but with my personality. Thanks to Aivars the process was relatively stress free with the fun bits left for me.

Aivars Architects were wonderful to work with. We gutted our flat and the architect redesigned the interiors. They were full of excellent advise, careful about costings and made several site visits during the refurbishment often changing things when new discoveries were made about unexpected finds behind panelling etc. Almost weekly we thank them for the clever design and amazing use of space.

Carolina, delivered a perfect service on a large home extension/renovation/refurbishment project. She made many very helpful suggestions as to structure and design which ultimately delivered a finished home which was even better than I had hoped for. She worked well with the builders and made sure that they fully understood what was required at every stage. She is very easy to talk to and work with. The design of the loft extension was greatly improved by her suggestion of having a vaulted ceiling in one of the bedrooms, and the skylight she designed in the rear extension is commented upon by many visitors to my home. I would happily recommend her to anyone looking for an architect for their home.
