Designtank is a boutique interior design studio based in Brisbane. We specialise in residential renovation and new construction projects. From older homes to new builds and apartments, Designtank understands how to make the most out of your property. We pride ourselves on ‘rethinking interiors’ to deliver innovative design solutions with your home and lifestyle in mind. Estelle Cameron is the founder and creative behind designtank. After a successful career managing projects in the banking and IT industries, Estelle decided to follow her passion for interior design. This career change led to further study and a Diploma of Interior Technology. Estelle established designtank in 2011 and since then has built a thriving interior design practice focusing on the individual needs of her clients. Estelle takes on each project as if it’s for her own home, providing an attention to detail that larger companies simply can’t offer. Estelle has the skills and life experience to not only deliver creative design solutions, but also the business experience to manage projects large and small.

We have recently finished a full house renovation. Estelle came on board in the design phase and has been nothing short of amazing. She ensured we understood the process, helped us navigate each step of the design phase and ensured we were always on track. Our renovation started at the outset of COVID in Feb 2020 and thanks to Estelle’s foresight we were able to purchase our tiles, tap ware etc to ensure we didn’t have any supply chain issues. Our house is amazing and we love every aspect of it. Estelle ensured there was continuity throughout, each room feels as though it is part of a bigger picture. We could not recommend her highly enough.

Dean Mackenzie

Not having any idea about how to design or renovate a bathroom, we looked for someone who could help us and found Estelle at designtank. She walked us through the entire process, showed us what was possible, and then went to work coming up with something that completely rejuvenated our old look. She then managed the renovation itself, meaning it was done with very little effort on our part. We're super happy with all the help Estelle gave us and would recommend her to anyone looking to renovate.

We have just added an ensuite and WIR to our period home. I spent a long time reading reviews and looking at portfolios before I contacted DesignTank. I'm so glad we were able to get Estelle's experience and talent both for the design and for the project management of the build. We are so pleased with the final result. The ensuite is amazingly both in keeping with the character of our home as well as being timeless. It's thoroughly practical and also beautiful. We recently purchased a new home and were left a bit unsure of how to make it “ours”. Estelle came and spent a valuable 1.5hours with us as we walked room to room discussing our ideas and her suggestions. We left the session invigorated with our new direction and how to make it come to life. Thank you Estelle for your guidance and for making me realise I needed to share my personality in the home. She also sent follow up images and recommendations to further cement our ideas. I’ve since made lots of tweaks and getting a lot of compliments about our home. We sent out a message to a number of interior designers. We selected design tank partly because they had shown previous projects that attract us, but largely because Estelle was very easy to deal with and straight forward. She took the time to understand our request and needs, offered the right service to suit us. We had pretty good idea what we wanted to do and wanted someone to review our plans, provide professional guidance and if need be challenge some of our ideas and work on alternatives. She delivered on all these areas and also gave us ideas that we weren't expecting. Designtank were well worth the consultation cost.

We have just finished renovating the whole of upstairs in our family Queenslander which included the living area, deck, kitchen, study, stairs and landing. My wife and I wanted someone who could help us design the space and manage the project from start to finish. Estelle fit the bill perfectly. She has the technical skills to draw all the kitchen cabinetry and custom built fitted furniture, which included a beautifully made walnut table, chairs and shelving. She has a good eye for colours and soft furnishings and was great at sourcing some lovely pieces for us which included lighting, sofas curtains and rugs. She also helped choose and source all the new kitchen appliances. Estelle has re-imagined the space for us which included moving a door, moving a window, building wall to wall bookshelves, a built in outdoor barbi and completely reconfiguring the kitchen. We love the result. A much better use of space that looks beautiful. Very happy. Thankyou Estelle

Estelle was first recommended to me when I urgently needed plans drawn up for my ensuite renovations. She was very obliging and professional and we continued to work together to upgrade my whole apartment. Estelle managed to change my new unit from an all white, clinical space to an interesting, warm inviting home while working with the pieces I wanted to keep. Feeling our bathroom layout could be better, but not sure what to do, we called in Estelle to give us some expert advice. Estelle listened to our needs and promptly came up with the most sensible solution for our awkwardly shaped family bathroom. Estelle quickly identified our style and presented a selection of tiling, fittings and finishes that we loved. She was consultative throughout the whole process and encouraged us to make choices we would never have had the confidence to make without her. The result is a WOW factor bathroom that reflects our family, is practical and beautiful. Estelle was always organised, professional, good humoured and efficient. Estelle took all the stress out of renovating our bathroom and her advice ensured we dodged making potentially expensive mistakes.

We recently discovered Estelle Cameron of designtank when we needed to update our ensuite and powder room. Estelle was great to work with and came up with some fantastic suggestions and design concepts but was also very willing to listen to our ideas and incorporate them into the final design. She also project managed the job very well for us and ensured the whole project ran on time and as smoothly as possible. We are extremely happy with the end result and would have no hesitation in recommending Estelle and designtank.
