FOUNDED IN 1992, Cynthia Filkoff and Armand Di Biase established the firm in Bedford, New York providing outstanding quality custom residential design to discerning clients. Today, Di Biase Filkoff Architects, PC is widely recognized for creating gracious homes, award winning versatile design and proficiently collaborating with interior designers, landscape architects, artisans, and builders. Principals contribute in all phases of each project. Projects range in scope from country estates with multiple outbuildings to corporate office buildings and master planning for academic alterations. Di Biase Filkoff Architects, PC is licensed to practice architecture in New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, South Carolina, and Florida. Our reputation has been built by helping clients create beautiful homes. We incorporate the family’s needs with the essential qualities of a house and its site. By understanding the nature of materials and light, and applying the basic principles of proportion, scale, and massing we develop a gracious place to live. Principals contribute significant experience in all phases of a project. A limited number of projects are undertaken at any given time to assure proper attention to individual client needs. By teaming up with landscape architects, decorators, artisans and craftsmen, all aspects of design are integrated. Each project is closely coordinated with the contractor to achieve the highest quality construction.

I am an out-of-practice architect and have known DiBiase Filkoff Architects for many years-- I worked with Cynthia at another firm 25 years ago; worked for her 20 years ago; and now have hired her firm twice to help with renovations of my home. She is very smart, has a great range of styles and sensitivities/aesthetics-- and has a fantastic facility with building and being very realistic. I'm constantly amazed what I learn from her and how much better any project I do with her comes out, because she has such a great eye and she (and her firm) are very talented. I cannot recommend her and DiBiase Filkoff Architects highly enough.

My firm had the opportunity to work with DiBiase Filkoff on a multi-bath renovation in Greenwich, Ct. I found their plans to be very explicit with great attention to detail, minimizing the inevitable questions that occur when working with a highly refined space such as a bathroom. When there were questions, they were accessible and attentive, not only Armand and Cynthia, but their staff as well. They are highly knowledgeable, experienced and professional. We are general contractors who have worked along side Cynthia and Armand of DiBiase Filkoff Architects P.C. on numerous projects. Their firm is very professional and resourceful. They are able to execute the project in a very high quality manner. The customer is always first in their mind. They are responsive to deadlines in order to keep projects rolling along well. Their extensive knowledge of residential architecture is second to none. DiBiase Filkoff is very capable of handling situations that might come up throughout the duration of the project. After interviewing several architects for our first floor renovation, we knew Di Biase Filkoff Architects would be perfect for the job and we were right on! Cynthia Filkoff understood our vision from the first meeting and offered varied and inspired, out-of-the-box suggestions that helped us end up with beautiful, efficient spaces that we love to live in. Always positive with a can-do approach, Cynthia was able to easily guide us, her great team and a highly professional contractor she helped us select, through the process from concept to the finished space. Cynthia seemed to draw from vast experience, offering great design and attention to detail to come up with ‘just right’ solutions for us. For example, by moving the existing entry into our family room by 3 feet, she was able to open up an entire area giving us much better flow, much more convenient access to our kitchen, and a fabulous kitchen island that is the first floor focal point for our everyday life and just wonderful for entertaining! All of this and a project that came in on schedule and on budget! Can you tell we recommend Di Biase Filkoff Architects to anyone who asks?

Your project is a textbook successful alteration. We were able to make your family room feel 30% larger without adding a window or door or moving a wall. The key design elements of the transformation are improved circulation, increased illumination and a lighter wall color.
